Darkness falls, the stars go out, and the faint moonlight disappears leaving the investigators in complete darkness. A wave of blackness seeps towards them like a deadly fog. Mesmerising shapes that swirl inside it reflect the nightmares of those that stare into it as it forms tendrils and tentacles that writhe around one another

Thousands of years ago, the Mi-Go had a number of labs spread all across the world where they engaged in experiments. One of their experiments was the Formless Nightmare. A programmable black mist. The Nightmare can be controlled and programmed through the use of complex magic

If left with no instructions, the nightmare will envelop and absorb the memories of anyone it encounters and then attempt to meet the needs of whomever it has absorbed. The process has a heavily destructive effect on the mind of whomever encounters it.

If controlled through appropriate magic, the Nightmare can take on any shape, although regularly seems to end up as an Alpaca sitting amongst sheep. It can be charged with simple commands to hunt down and absorb the memories of its victims, or it can be charged with tearing them apart.

SPECIAL POWERS 

Power: Incorporeal Black Mist. Can move effortlessly through any terrain.

Power: Can absorb a victim’s memories.

The investigators must succeed on a contested POW roll against the Nightmare (POW 150) or be completely seized by its influence.

If the investigators succeeds then they stumble out of the mist having gained 1d10 Cthulhu Mythos and lost 1d10 SAN.

If the investigators fail then their memories are drained and they lose 3d20 INT. If an investigator’s INT is reduced to 0 then they die.

Power: Can tear its victime to pieces.

The investigators must succeed on a contested POW roll against the Nightmare (POW 150) or be completely seized by its influence.

If the investigators succeed, then they stumble out of the mist having gained 1d10 Cthulhu Mythos and lost 1d10 SAN.

If the investigators fail, then they are torn to pieces within the mist.

Move: 7 Can move through any obstacle as if it were a gas.

ATTACKS

Attacks per round: 1

Envelop: If it enters the same space as an Investigator, they are enveloped.

Dodge: 30%

Armor: Normal weapons and guns do no damage to the Nightmare.

Skills: Stealth 60&

Sanity Loss: 1/1d6 upon meeting. 1d10 if enveloped.
