This appears to be a patch of overgrown grass with slightly iridescent blades. It is only detectable by characters who have wilderness travel experience in this region, or those who have accompanied it before. When a living being steps into the grass, they are immobilized as the grass wraps around their lower limbs. The grass will release its grip only if the person eats one days’ worth of rations.
Attacking the tough grass is largely ineffectual; only slashing weapons harm it, and they do minimal damage. Area effects do full damage, and fire does double damage – but these may also affect any individuals within the hunger grass.
