It’s 2015 and that means a whole new October.. and as we all know around these parts.. that means a whole new OctoberNomicon!! As such we’re asking YOU, our faithful readers to start thinking up horrors to inflict upon your fellow Cthulhu fans.
When submitting, make sure to stat out your beastie and do your best to include some sort of image to help it stand out. Always, of course, make sure you’ve the rights to use the image in question and make sure you credit the original artist!
What we’re looking for:
Monsters
Taken from folklore, urban myths, pop culture, or even your own fevered mind. Please include game stats (CoC7th Edition, CoC pre-7, Cthulhu Dark, Trail of Cthulhu), and try to get an image of your horrible beastie as well. We’re going to need at LEAST 31 of these guys, and of course the more the merrier.
Scenarios
We’re going to try for at least one scenario a week for the OctoberNomicon as well. The scenario should focus on a new beastie that you’ve previously submitted, or one you’re introducing in your adventure.

Last year, Golden Goblin Press was awesome enough to give us a copy of “Tales of the Crescent City—Adventures in Jazz Era New Orleans; a collection of scenarios for the Call of Cthulhu Roleplaying Game.” to give away to the winner. So far they’ve signed on to give us prize support again this year. As things develop, we will give you more details of categories and actual prizes. But yes, you can win free stuff, and who doesn’t love free stuff?
Contest Mechanics
Shoggoth.net always has been, is, and always will be run by YOU, our loyal reader. As such, as close to November 1st as humanly possible, a poll will be unleashed upon the site allowing readers to vote for their favorite stories. The author with the most votes in their category (Mentioned in case we do multiple tiers, otherwise the category is merely “Folks who submitted”) will win. Simple as that. Good luck to you all!
